The BC Commencement Team released its monthly newsletter for April with further details for graduating seniors on commencement, which is set for Jun. 2 at 9 AM at the Barclays Center.

New information on attending graduates having their names called at the ceremony has been released. In partnership with Marching Order, a graduation services and software company, all graduates have the opportunity to submit a recording of the correct pronunciation of their names. Instructions on creating Marching Order accounts were sent out Monday, Apr. 3 to the preferred email addresses that students have on CUNYFirst and BC WebCentral.

Cap, gown, and tassel orders can now be placed through personalized links on the Marching Order webpage. This is required for all students participating in commencement, who must allow four to six weeks for delivery.

One more on-campus senior photo sessions will be held Apr. 24 to Apr. 27 by appointment only. For students interested in ordering a Brooklyn College class ring, a representative from Balfour will be on campus Apr. 26 and 27 in 0229 Ingersoll.

Ticket requests for commencement have also gone live through Marching Order. All students attending must request tickets. Graduates may receive up to four tickets for guests, as well as a ticket for themselves. There is also an option to submit a request for extra tickets, which are not guaranteed.

The deadline for name pronunciation, ticket request, and cap and gown orders is May 6. Students with additional questions or who require accessible accommodations for commencement are asked to fill out the Commencement Questions form on BC’s website. Those who would like to invite guests from overseas are encouraged to digitally submit an Invitation Letter Application for Overseas Guests no later than Apr. 21.

Students who are eligible to attend, but are not receiving the Commencement Newsletter, are encouraged to subscribe.
